En todo el mundo, el 32,4 % de los puestos de alta dirección de las empresas del mid-market están actualmente ocupados por mujeres, lo que supone un aumento de apenas medio punto porcentual (pp, por sus siglas en inglés) desde 2022 y de solo 13 pp desde la primera vez que realizamos un estudio al respecto, en 2004. Nuestro estudio indica que las empresas del mid-market deben aspirar a alcanzar la paridad, y rápido.
En primer lugar, las mujeres ocupan ahora más puestos en la cúpula de las empresas que nunca: el 28% las empresas del mid-market cuentan ya con una mujer como consejera delegada (CEO) o directora general (MD), frente al 15% en el 2019.
En segundo lugar, las presiones externas en relación con los factores medioambientales, sociales y de gobierno corporativo (ASG) exigen la creación de nuevas estrategias, como un firme avance hacia un mayor número de mujeres en la alta dirección.
En todo el mundo están elaborándose normas y reglamentos en relación con los factores de ASG que presionan a las empresas para que formen equipos directivos diversos. Tal vez los avances más significativos para alcanzar la igualdad entre géneros procedan del compromiso constante de las empresas para ofrecer flexibilidad laboral; Los datos del IBR de este año indican que las empresas que ofrecen puestos de trabajo híbridos, flexibles o desde casa registran mejores resultados en cuanto al número de mujeres en puestos de la alta dirección; es decir, cuanto más flexible es un entorno de trabajo, más mujeres acceden a sus puestos directivos.
